Dosage division check?

the patient weigh 290 lbs. 50mg of drug /kg of body weight. the drug is dissolved surrounded by water to form a solution that is 25mg/ 1ml of solution.
what volume of the drug should he receive? I get 263.6ml. is this correct?? Given:
Desired dose: 50 mg/kg
Stock on hand: 25 mg/ml
Body freight: 290 lbs
Body Weight Formula:
Desired Dose = weight surrounded by lbs/2.2 lbs/kg X dose / 1kg
( Converting weigt in lbs to kg)
Desired dose= 290lbs/2.2lbs/kg X 50 mg/kg
= 131.8 kg X 50mg /kg
= 6590.9 mg rounded sour to 6 591 mg
Dosage Formula: SD/SH X Q
(Stock desired divided by stock on hand multiplied by sum or volume)
=6591 mg/ 25 mg X 1 ml
= 263.64 ml
Using all tha notes provided, your calculation is CORRECT!!
1. Change counterbalance in pounds to cargo in kilograms:
290lbs/ 2.2lbs per kg= 131.8 kg
2. Multiply consignment by desired dose to see how many miligrams you will call for:
131.8kg * 50mg per ml= 6590mg
3. Divide needed milligrams(6590) by available:
6590mg/25mg per ml= 263.6ml
263.6 ml is CORRECT!!
correct
