The brain is constantly surrounded by a liquid specified as cerebrospinal fluid, or CSF. This liquid would provide any "pressure" within the brain. Under normal conditions, the brain is below no physical pressure from the CSF, as there is neither too much nor too little fluid. Conditions within which there is too much fluid can go down, as in the crust of hydrocephaly. It is also possible to have too little fluid, normally after a lumbar puncture is conducted. The result of this negative pressure, is a mild to moderate headache.
